Two types of instruments are offered to study the strain and deformation characteristics of cylindrical specimens. The first is a compress meter which determines the longitudinal deformation produced on a 150 mm. diameter cylinder, due to stress. The second one is an extensometer which studies the lateral deformation produced by stress. These instruments are capable of strain measurement to a very high degree of accuracy and reliability.
