Conforms to I S : 2386 (Part – 4)
It consists of :
A rolled steel cylinder with an inside diameter of 700 mm. and internal length of 500mm. A detachable shelf,extending throughout the inside of the drum is fixed to avoid the abrasive charge from falling on the cover. Through a reduction gear driven by a motor, this cylinder is connected to stub shafts and mounted on a sturdy steel frame to rotate about its horizontal axis at 30 to 33
RPM. A tray is placed on the frame under the drum to collect the
material after the test. An automatic revolution counter is also provided to count the number of revolutions. Supplied with twelve hardened steel balls of 48 mm. diameter.
Wired for 440V., 3ph. 50 Hz.
