The Vicat Needle Apparatus with Dash Pot is similar to the Vicat Needle Apparatus however, this product is provided with a Hydraulic Dash Pot arrangement. The Hydraulic Dash Pot arrangement ensures jerk-free lowering of the needle on the test specimen.

Description

This procedure is recommended in various standard specifications has been designed to determine the quantity of water required to produce a cement paste of standard consistence. After achieving the consistent condition, samples are prepared in the Vicat mould to estimate the initial and final setting times. The results obtained from these empirical tests throw light on the quality of cement.

Set up and Applications of Vicat Needle Apparatus with Dash Pot

The Vicat Needle Apparatus with Dash Pot like the Vicat Needle Apparatus is suitable for determining the initial and final setting times of cement motar as well as the consistency of various other materials too.

The apparatus consists of a metallic frame with a cap at top, a vicat mould and glass base plate, a set of initial and final needles and a consistency plunger.

The dashpot facilities consistent and gentle lowering of the needles on the test specimen.
